How hybrid cars work?
Hybrid cars are the most promising cars at the present era.Hybrid cars integrate both the power of the conventional gasoline engine and the electric motor.A high power battery is used to run the electric motor which itself get recharged when the car is decelerating.the gas engine can also assist the battery in recharging. So there is no need to plug in the battery for charging.
There are mainly two types of hybrid cars according to the type of electric motor the have. One of them is mild hybrids and another is full hybrids.
Mild hybrids is mainly operated by gasoline engine but an additional power is added by an electric motor. This electric motor is not capable of running the car alone.Honda's power assist technology in it's hybrids, civic and Insight is an example.
Second type of hybrid is called full hybrids. In full hybrid cars, both the gasoline engine and electric motor are capable of running the car.But the gasoline engine drive the the at a high speed and the electric motor drive the car at comparatively low speed.Toyota Prius and Ford Escape both uses the same technology.
Both the mild or full hybrids are environment friendly and capable of providing lower emissions and better efficiency. The internal combustion engine installed in the hybrids is generally small in size as compared to other internal combustion engine. The IC engine is small in size because an electric motor is also installed there for assistance.

Ok cool !! See here I was thinkin you had an electric motor and when the juice goes, you're obviously not goin. I've been considering a hybrid cause of the economy and fuel prices but I so love my SUV for all the mommy stuff that I don't know if I could go small. Does anyone make a decent size hybrid of either style?
